Cerro Largo celebrated with the election of “Lady of the Four Decades” and “Miss Elegance 50+”
With an evening full of emotion, elegance and joy, the election of “Lady of the Four Decades 2025”, contest that this year incorporated the category for the first time “Miss Elegance 50+”, thus expanding the tribute to women who represent different stages of maturity and plenitude.
The meeting, which brought together 20 participants from various locations in the department, was much more than a beauty contest: it was a night to celebrate trust, camaraderie and the life stories of women who decided to take the stage to demonstrate that elegance and charisma are ageless.
A contest with history and purpose
“Lady of the Four Decades” It is an event with 17 years of experience in Maldonado and a decade of national expansion, inspired by the emblematic song by Ricardo Arjona. Its objective is to highlight women between 40 and 59 years old, valuing not only aesthetics, but also attitude, stage presence, general culture and the ability to relate.
Since its creation, the contest has aimed to strengthen female self-esteem and promote integration among women throughout the country. In 2012 it was officially recognized, being declared of National Tourist Interest by the Ministry of Tourism and of Departmental Interest by the Municipality and the Government of Maldonado, distinctions that support its cultural and social character.
ELEGANCE, COMPANIONSHIP AND EMOTION IN AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT
During the gala, the candidates paraded in different passages showing not only their outfits but also their style and personal confidence. The audience enthusiastically accompanied each presentation, turning the day into a true festival of emotions.
The jury evaluated aspects such as elegance, attitude, presence, human relations and cultural level, aspects that reflect the spirit of the contest: recognizing women in their fullness, beyond traditional standards of beauty.
The winners of this edition will be in charge of representing the department of Cerro Largo in the grand national final, which will take place in the coming months on the east coast of the country. Before that instance, they will participate in days of coexistence and preparation in hotels in Punta del Este and Rocha, together with representatives from other departments.

The organization highlighted that these types of meetings go far beyond a competition, since they seek to promote sisterhood, trust and personal growth. In each edition, the participants establish lasting bonds and become an example of improvement for other women around them.
In this way, the pageant reaffirms its commitment to female empowerment and the comprehensive appreciation of Uruguayan women, celebrating the experience, sensitivity and strength of those who, with pride, represent the different stages of life.
