Electronic promissory notes, one of the most emblematic services of the Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC) and Diseval, Nuam subsidiaries, reached a new milestone on its 15th anniversary: exceeded the 36 million electronic promissory notes in custodyconsolidating as the most important system for the development of digital credit in Colombia and the region.

Since the signing of the first electronic promissory note in 2010, this system has transformed the way millions of people access financial products. Today, more than 17 million people and 108,000 companies have received credit thanks to this ecosystem, which has allowed to expedite processes, reduce costs and strengthen confidence in electronic securities.
“The development of electronic promissory notes is a history of innovation and collective construction with the market. In these 15 years we have accompanied the digital transformation of banks, Fintech, originating of all sizesbecoming a strategic ally to expand access to credit and strengthen financial inclusion, ”said Guillermo González, Deputy Manager of Digital Services and Registration of Nuam and leader of the product of promissory notes.
With more than 600 customers among banks, financing companies, companies in the real sector and Fintech in the last five years, The issuance of promissory notes has grown by 291%, and about 65% of the digital credit in Colombia is supported in electronic promissory notes guarded by the Centralized Securities Deposit (DECEVAL), evidencing its fundamental role in the digitalization of the financial system.
“This is an achievement that reflects Colombia’s ability to lead digital transformation in financial markets.
