Panama advances in terms of electronic invoicing, it reached approximately 45 thousand users. Of this total, 9,000 correspond to qualified authorized providers (PAC) and the rest through free billing, representing 19% of taxpayers, reported the regent of the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI), Publio De Gracia Tejada.
It is sought that taxpayers move organically to the use of electronic invoicing, which symbolizes the present of billing in the Republic of Panama, De Gracia stressed.
Currently there are activities that are required to use electronic invoicing by law, such as all RUC from 2022 to date and State providers. In addition, to the exceptions removed from the use of fiscal equipment, established in the calendar for activities such as: Companies authorized by the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP), cargo services derived from petroleum, national and international public passenger transport by land, area or maritime, hostels with less than seven rooms, rental of real estate, Banking Sector Operations Phase 1 and 2, Special Regimes, Free Zone, Free Zones.
De Gracia reiterated that the electronic invoice must be recognized as an advantage not only for the DGI, but also for the organization of companies.
“We are constantly teaching to encourage the generation of a tax culture, in the administration of President Laurentino Cortizo, to carry out taxation issues in the country in a simple and easy way, it being important that citizens comply with their obligations, so that the resources reach all Panamanians,” concluded De Gracia.
