Electronic commerce rises 30% in this year 2022

The electronic commerce grew up in the country 30% in the first trimester this year compared to the same period last year.

This was reported by the president of the Dominican Chamber of Electronic Commerce, Red Sundaywho highlighted that the covid-19 pandemic It gave a big boost to electronic commerce, due to movement restrictions.

He considered that electronic commerce will continue to grow as the consumer gains more confidence in the different local platforms.

He noted that the Dominican Chamber of Electronic Commerce requested the National Statistics Office (ONE) to collect data on electronic commerce in the country, but it has not complied with its request.

Edeeste reports reduction in losses in the last year

On the other hand, the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (EDE Este) reported that it has presented a reduction in its losses by going from 51.56% in March 2021 to a 44.52% in March 2022which represents a decrease of 7.04%.

In a press release, Edeeste explained that a report from the Projects and Loss Management Department explains that one of the strategies of the current administration is to work in sectioned off areas, intervening in them with micro and macro measurement for a better tracking and loss detection.

One of the intervened areas is Venezuela Avenue, Santo Domingo Este, which began in January 2021 with losses of 20%, achieving a reduction in 2.31% as of February 2022.

Another case referred to is that of Nueva Barquita, made up of 2,100 customers with prepaid metering. At the end of February 2022, this sector presents losses of 1.01%.

The report also indicates that in August 2021 a process of installation and recovery of totalizers, devices to measure energy to transformers, and already for beginning of March 2022 there are 4,600.
