“Right now, we have Higüey at 40% of the energy required and we hope to raise it to 90% in the province tomorrow,” he said.
He indicated that in Hato Mayor, the urban area has 90% of energy served and the expectation is to resolve the situation in the rest of the suburban and rural areas in the same way.
“In Miches we are also working and we hope to restore the service no later than tomorrow,” the official explained.
He said that they are working in Nisibón and this afternoon the Cruz del Isleño substation was heated to 34.5 kilowatts.
He explained that in San Pedro de Macorís they already have 95% power, “and we ask the Macorisana population to give us a waiting period because we are working in the entire Edeeste concession area, not only in its demarcation, and we know that there are a lot of people without energy yet”.
Portes noted that “it is also important that people know that just hours after the phenomenon had passed we were restoring electricity in all the cities of Edeeste. That is very important and that people can recognize all the effort that the entire Hub team of the country’s energy companies is making”.
“The Minister of Energy and Mines present here has given full and unconditional support and the President of the Republic has spoken in a very definite and forceful way and has shown his concern for solving not only the energy problem, but also the health problems , education and all the others that have involved the passage of the hurricane Fiona”, sanctioned.
“We hope to respond to the population as soon as possible and meet their needs in the shortest time possible,” said the general manager of Edeeste.
Santo Domingo East
Andrés Portes also specified that they have around 1,700 incidents that have moved most of the equipment to the eastern zone and that they are putting together an operation for all the municipalities of Santo Domingo Este in order to solve the energy problem as soon as possible.
Portes reiterated that just hours after the meteor passed, the Edeeste brigades were already working in La Altagracia, La Romana, Hato Mayor and El Seibo, “because prior to the passage of the phenomenon we had organized logistics and stationed our brigades in each of the sectors and cities that the hurricane was going to impact.”
He indicated that this strategy allowed to give energy to the most priority places, such as hospitals, clinics and aqueducts.
