In March of this year, the electric rates they will not register any variation in their prices, reported the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin).
The regulator carried out the corresponding monthly review and as a result of it determined that as of March 4, 2023, “the electric rates of the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) will not have variations.
He also recalled that said rate is made up of “the efficient costs of generating, transmitting and distributing electricity to users” of the service.
In the same way, he assured that the current regulations lead to the review of the cost every month according to update formulas and values of indicators such as the Wholesale Price Index (IPM).
Other factors that are taken into account are the exchange rate, the price of natural gas, fuel prices, and the prices of copper and aluminum.
“(Considered) the contracts signed between generation and distribution companies to provide electricity to users,” said Osinergmin.
