The national electricity system registered a new historical demand peak this Friday, reaching 28,562 Mw, the new record for a business day, which accompanied the high temperatures of the day, according to data from the Wholesale Electricity Market Administration Company. (Cammesa).
The peak of energy consumption registered at 3:15 p.m. in the face of the high temperatures that a large part of the country faces was higher than the 28,283 Mw of December 12, reaching 28,562 Mw.
The city of Buenos Aires, La Plata and several municipalities in the Buenos Aires suburbs, such as Merlo, were still affected today by thermal sensation marks between 39 and 44 degrees, so the red alert for extreme temperatures “very dangerous” for the area remains in force. , while other towns in the center and east of the country were going through a sweltering day of real temperatures above 34 degrees, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
Faced with this situation, the Association of Electricity Distributors (Adeera) reiterated the recommendation that users make a proper use of electrical appliances at home and at work and, in this way, it contributes to making the use of electrical system resources (generation, transmission and distribution) more efficient.
Proper use will allow us to go through exceptional situations such as the one that occurs in these days of intense heat.
