The Electrical Union (Une) de Cuba reported today that the service will be affected this Saturday with a maximum of 500 megawatts (MW) during daytime hours and 412 MW at peak.
The note from the company indicates that units 6, 7 and 8 of the Mariel thermoelectric power plant (CTE), units 4 of CTE Nuevitas, unit 2 of CTE Felton and units 3 of CTE Felton are out of service due to breakdowns. , 4 and 5 of the CTE Rent. Unit 6 of the CTE Nuevitas is undergoing maintenance.
It also points out that the limitations in thermal generation (375 MW) are maintained, and in distributed generation, 1,104 MW are unavailable due to breakdown and 417 MW are in maintenance.
According to the text, for peak hours the entry of unit 6 of the CTE Nuevitas is expected, with 110 MW, unit 3 of Rente, with 50 MW, and the use of 143 MW in diesel engines.
An availability of 2,508 MW and a maximum demand of 2,850 MW are estimated for peak hours, for a deficit of 342 MW.
Yesterday, Friday, the service was affected due to a capacity deficit 24 hours a day, with a maximum of 617 MW at 10:20 p.m., coinciding with peak hours.
The affectation remained throughout the early hours of today Saturday.
