The Prosecutor’s Office of the Nation will begin a preliminary investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds intended for electoral stripa mechanism that finances dissemination spaces for political parties in campaign towards elections 2026. The decision was adopted after hearing questions about the destination of these resources delivered by the ONPE.
The Public Ministry specified that the investigation will seek to determine if there was a use other than that established by law and if it is appropriate to attribute criminal responsibilities. The case will be evaluated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which will review the execution of the assigned amounts and the contracting of dissemination spaces linked to the electoral strip.
