Uypress – The Electoral Court decided to authorize registration as a political party in Uruguay de la Libertad advances, a group that promotes the ideas of the Argentine movement led by Javier Milei.
The application had been submitted at the beginning of June and the end of that month, the electoral court reported that the minimum of signatures required to be accredited as a party had not been reached, due to repeated, illegible signatures and other technical observations.
However, in August the amount of signing required and, with the regularized documentation, the Court resolved to approve the constitution of the party “after verifying compliance with all the legal requirements required by Law No. 18,485 and the Constitution of the Republic”, in accordance with an official statement.
The ruling established the recognition “as a political party, granting the motto ‘Party La Libertad advances’ for all electoral acts and procedures, with all the rights, obligations and limitations established by the Constitution of the Republic and the laws, subject to the conditions of existence that derive from the legislation”.
He also ordered that “in the respective books the motto granted, the domicile of the party and the provisional executive authorities, which will be valid until the designation of the definitive ones”.
