The Electoral Commission of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) met with representatives of the candidates this Thursday, June 1.
According to the minutes of the meeting, the objective was to inform about the actions of the Commission and to know the opinions and recommendations of the candidates for the process of June 9, which was reached after the suspension of the day of May 26. .
In that sense, The Electoral Commission exposed two critical points of the elections in the UCV: the publication of the definitive Electoral Registry and the loss of information, and the distribution of the material.
The body chaired by Carlos Alberto Marín told the representatives of the candidates for rectors of the UCV that “the inconsistencies of the Electoral Registry and the electoral notebooks will be resolved. For example, the cases of the central offices of Maracay and some specific cases of Identity Card numbers and name changes.
It was also reported that the Central Electoral Commission will work in the Faculty of Architecture of the UCV, which will have a printing team to meet the needs: a check will be made with the electoral subcommittees of voter participation to guarantee the voting material every two hours starting at 10 am at the suggestion of the Technical Commission designated by the University Council”.
Likewise, it was reported that this Friday, June 2, a test of the readers with tickets will be carried out. The representatives of the aspiring rectors can take this test.
The meeting this Thursday, in addition to representatives of the UCV Electoral Commission, was attended by representatives of the candidates Amalio Belmonte, Victor Rago; Enrique Lopez Loyo; Miguel Alfonso, Miguel Castillejo; Paulino Betancourt and Humberto Rojas.
