Elections: integrated management is a challenge for São Paulo city hall

The second round of municipal elections in 18 municipalities in São Paulo is going smoothly, said judge Silmar Fernandes, president of the Regional Electoral Court of São Paulo (TRE-SP), this morning (27). In a press conference held around 11:40 am, he said that there were no arrests in the state and no incidents of power outages. “I have the honor to say that everything is happening normally,” he said.Elections in the state of São Paulo take place within normality

The only occurrence that was identified by the court, informed the president of the São Paulo body, was a ballot box that took place in the same school where the mayor of the capital of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, candidate for re-election, voted. “In one place, a polling station started, but the overt police arrived and these people were dispersed”, he explained.

According to the most recent bulletin released by TRE-SP, 40 electronic voting machines, out of a total of 44,928 that are being used for the second round elections in the state of São Paulo, needed to be replaced. This corresponds to 0.089%. Of this total, 23 ballot boxes were being used in the capital of São Paulo.

The TRE-SP president’s expectation is that the results of this Sunday’s elections in the state of São Paulo will be finalized and released between 7pm and 8pm.
