Santo Domingo.-The observers of the elections of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) reported that the process began normally and that around 9:30 in the morning all the precincts throughout the country and in all the polling stations were operating.
Fernando Peña, who served as spokesperson for the Observer Corps, said that the process developed absolutely normally and that the inconveniences inherent to the start of voting, such as the lack of delegates at the beginning of the process, were the most significant novelties.
“Incidents that have to be highlighted, none occurred throughout the national territory, regardless of the fact that this type of process is always accompanied by some level of competitive tension, but in these ADP elections,” he indicated.

“Everything has worked well because the electoral ballots, the registers, the delegates of the plates were in their voting precincts at 9:30 am on October 9,” Peña noted.
He highlighted that about 120 observers visited voting centers throughout the country. He said that these observers in some cases visited several tables to be able to cover the 366 tables that were installed throughout the country.
The ADP Electoral Commission has not yet said the time when it will issue its first bulletin to find out how things are going or if there is a wide margin between the four candidates.
