With Keiko Fujimori at the head, the party Popular Force took a key step on its path towards the 2026 General Elections by officially presenting the application for registration of its presidential ticket, with which it will seek to reach the Government Palace in the elections scheduled for next April 12.
The presidential slate is made up of Fujimori Higuchi herself as a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, accompanied by Luis Galarreta Velarde in the First Vice Presidency and Miguel Ángel Torres in the Second Vice Presidency.
The request was presented last Tuesday night by the legal representative of the political organization, Edwin Levano, through the Declara+ digital platform of the National Elections Jury (JNE).
According to the official record of the electoral system, the three members of the presidential formula were previously elected in the internal primary elections of Fuerza Popular, complying with the requirements established by current electoral regulations.
The registration of Fuerza Popular occurs just three days before the official deadline for submitting presidential candidacies to the JNE expires, which marks a decisive stage in the electoral calendar.
With this procedure, the Fujimori group becomes the second political organization to make its presidential plan official for the 2026 electoral process.
