He National Election Jury (JNE) excluded the former president of the Republic, Martin Vizcarraalready the suspended prosecutor of the Nation, Delia Espinozafrom the Preliminary Electoral Register with a view to the Elections 2026. The reason is because they were disqualified for 10 years by the Congress of the Republic to exercise public function.

According to resolution No. 0744-2025-JNE, the measure also covers the former judge César Hinostroza Pariachithe former president of the defunct National Council of the Judiciary (CNM), Guido Águila Degreesthe former Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti Soler; the former head of the Minsa, Victor Zamora,and the former congressmen Yesenia Ponce Villarrea and Freddy Diaz Monago.

With this resolution, it is established that the effects of the disqualifications against former public officials impact their rights to vote (elect and be elected), to participate and to found, organize, belong to or represent a political party or alliance.

The decision of the JNE has the signature of its president, Roberto Burneoas well as that of its members, Maisch Molina, Ramírez Chávarry, Torres Cortez and Oyarce Yuzzelli.

The sanctions issued by Parliament against public officials range between 5 and 10 years, respectively.

Espinoza Valenzuela has a disqualification imposed by the Legislature for allegedly having signed a resolution in the Prosecutor’s Office that violated Law 32130. JNE approves Definitive Electoral Registry

On the other hand, the JNE also approved the Definitive Electoral Roll prepared by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) with a view to the 2026 Elections.

In detail, there will be 26,114,619 citizens who will vote in Peruvian territory, while 1,210,813 voters will vote abroad.
