The president of the National Election Jury (JNE), Roberto Burneo, reported that so far 1,432 lists of candidates (out of 2021 expected lists) and 6,963 resumes have been presented, within the framework of the general elections of April 12, 2026.
“So far the vast majority of political organizations have managed to present 100% of their formulas and lists of candidates. There are some, three, who have managed to present physically, they are at zero, but they have managed to present physically and this will be updated,” he said at a press conference.
He reported that the three organizations that appear at zero and some that have not managed to present 100% are online (“logged in with Declara+), so over the course of hours they can manage to present their formulas and lists.
He also explained that these figures represent an advance of 70.86%.
The head of the JNE specified that the figures released correspond to the information cutoff carried out at 08:00 and that until this noon political organizations can present the lists and formulas that are still pending.
He specified that of the 36 organizations participating in next year’s elections, only two have not presented presidential formulas because they have not managed to do so in the primary elections. They are Frepap and Ciudadanos Por el Perú. “All the others can still do it, we hope at the closing they can do it,” he noted.
“We are going to publish the final report at the end of the day, which is noon,” he said, indicating that the political organizations that are at zero percent are Primero la Gente, Partido de los Trabajadores y Emprendedores, and Fé en el Perú.
Qualification
At another time, Roberto Burneo expressed that next comes the qualification stage of these candidate lists. “This list of candidates will be evaluated, they are already in the qualification stage in the Special Electoral Juries (JEE), some have already reported some inadmissibility decisions that can be rectified within 48 hours,” he said.
He said that it is a matter of qualification for the JEE that these lists comply with alternation and parity at the national level.
“Probably some lists will be observed, but that does not mean that they have fallen, but that they have 48 hours to correct, we will see that in the coming days,” he said, specifying that according to the regulations the qualification is carried out in three days.
He stressed that after those 48 hours it will be known whether or not the observed lists will be able to continue in the race.
