The first appointment with the polls will be on February 18, 2024 with the elections for mayors, councilors, directorates and members.
The process will culminate on May 19 with the presidential, senatorial, deputy and overseas deputy elections.
If in the presidential elections no candidate obtains the necessary votes in the first round, a second round will take place on June 30 of that year.
Everything indicates that the current head of state, Luis Abinader, of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), will run for a new four-year term, although he has not yet confirmed this point.
