The National Office of Electoral Process (ONPE) announced this Friday that from Sunday, May 15 to June 3, the platform “Choose your polling place” will be available so that voters can select the polling station closest to their homes.
The ONPE reported on its social networks that the platform will present options for premises located within the district that appears in the National Identification Document (DNI), unless the citizen has changed their address in said document after October 2. 2021, when the register used in the organization of the elections was closed.
However, it will not be possible to select a location in a district other than the one contained in this list, since the process includes the election of mayors and district and provincial councillors.
Based on the selection (three maximum) carried out by each citizen, the electoral body will determine the voting center to which they must go to elect their subnational authorities.
In recent electoral processes, ONPE has made this application available to citizens. For the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections, it has been updated and will be available from 12:00 a.m. on May 15 until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.
The current version of the platform offers three different ways to choose the three locations, entering HEREI.
