Next Wednesday, August 3, is the deadline for resignations and withdrawal of candidates, in accordance with the current calendar for Regional and Municipal Elections 2022.
This was reported by National Election Jury (JNE)which detailed that that same day is the deadline for the publication of formulas and lists admitted to participate in the October elections.
The lists of admitted candidates must be published in the institutional electronic portal of the JNE and in the JEE panel that issues the admission resolution, according to the corresponding regulations.
In the case of the municipal election, the lists must also be published at the headquarters of the commune to which the candidates apply. In both cases, the publication is the responsibility of the secretary of the JEE, who reports said acts.
The rule states that the general secretaries of local governments, or those who act in their stead, have the obligation to carry out the publications at the headquarters of the respective municipality, immediately after being notified by the secretary of the JEE, under responsibility.

While the appeals raised in the aforementioned cases may be resolved in the special electoral juries until september 2.
On October 1 – one day before the elections are held – is the deadline for the National Elections Jury to exclude candidates of the electoral contest due to its legal situation.
On October 2, the regional and municipal elections will be held. Within 30 days following the proclamation of the official results, the date for the second round at the regional level may be set.
