The election of the new president of the Congress of the republic that will complement the annual period of sessions 2022-2023 will be done in person at the special plenary session convened for Monday 12.
This was stated by the senior official of Parliament, Joseph Cevascoafter indicating that as established by the regulations of that State power, in its article 12, said act will be headed by the first vice president, Martha Moyano (Popular Force).
“The parliamentarians have to be present on Monday at the session that has been convened in a special way and they will be able to vote and elect the candidate of their choice”he expressed.

In an interview for the Canal del Congreso, he reiterated that this Sunday, at 10:00 am, the deadline for the parliamentary groups to present their candidacies expires.
He pointed out that there is no established limit of applicants, however, in the last years of parliamentary history, everything points to the possibility of have more lists due to today’s fragmentation in Congress.
He added that each of the legislators will cast their secret ballot in alphabetical order. Thus, the congressmen mark a cross or a cross on the number of the candidacy they support.
Cevasco Piedra pointed out that if none of the applicants reaches the number of votes stipulated in the regulations (equal to or greater than the simple majority of concurrent congressmen), a second round will be held and the winner will be the one who obtains the highest number of votes.
