Elderly man burns to death in a fire in Tarija

In the community of La Victoria (Tarija), a man of approximately 70 years old, He died from severe burns to his body after he was unable to escape an arson attack, according to a preliminary report.

Rodolfo Flores, in charge of National Police Firefightersconfirmed the man’s death and limited himself to saying that officers from the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) arrived at the scene for the legal removal of the body.

Flores told EL DEBER that the circumstances surrounding the death are unknown because when the firefighters arrived they found the person’s body without “vital signs.”

According to the Director of Environmental and Risk Management of the Government of Tarija, Reiner Figueroa, the fire in the community of La Victoria was reported at approximately 11 in the morning.

“According to preliminary reports, it is It is presumed that the elderly person tried to put out the fire, but suffered smoke poisoning,” the official said.
