Police reported that the alleged criminal “El Wilkin” or “El Mayor” was shot dead last night when he allegedly confronted a police patrol with a rifle that was following him in order to arrest him in San Pedro de Macorís.

The deceased was identified as Victor Michel (El Wilkin or El Mayor), 38 years old, who according to the Police was wanted for his involvement in the murder of Haitian Saintil Enock and for having injured three other people on Tuesday, September 10 in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo province.
According to the preliminary report, the confrontation took place when an Investigation Patrol (Dicrim), acting under arrest warrant No. 973-2024-EMES-11770, located Michel, who, upon noticing the police presence, opened fire on the officers using a rifle, which led to a shootout.

During the confrontation, the institution’s second lieutenant Antonio Tanis Luis was wounded by a bullet in the right foot and was transferred to a health center, where he is under medical care.
While the antisocial individual died while receiving medical attention at the same health center.

The alleged criminal killed was linked, in addition to the murder of Enock, to the injuries caused to Luis Ángel Geraldo Mateo, Clary Valdez Acosta and Aneury Suero Arnaut in an incident under investigation that occurred in Boca Chica.
