El Torno councilors ask for speed in the process against their mayor and social organizations demand his resignation

Given the slow progress in the process due to the corruption complaints filed by the Municipal Council of El Torno against its own mayor and president of the Association of Municipalities of Cruceños (Amdecruz), Hediberto Cuellarthis Friday six councilors accompanied by the social control and neighborhood councils of that municipality met in the Plaza 24 de Septiembre of the Santa Cruz capital to require the departmental prosecutor to speed up the investigations.

Constancio Mamani, president of the Municipal Council of El Torno, indicated that they attended this meeting at the request of the neighbors who “They are already tired of the corruption and the shamelessness of the mayor”, Therefore, he asks the Public Ministry to once and for all give the necessary attention to the case.

There were two complaints presented by the Municipal Council to the Prosecutor’s Office on April 4. One for the change of items for municipal workswithout authorization from the Council of this municipality, and the other complaint is for uneconomic conduct, fragmentation of works and economic damage to the State for about Bs 120,000.

The representative of Social Control, Severo Copa, emphasized that the municipality of Tornado will not allow acts of corruption and demanded that Hediberto Cuéllar resign within a maximum period of 24 hours. Otherwise, he announced that they do not rule out roadblocks on the highway that connects Angostura with San Marta.

The neighborhood councils were also present with posters and refrains against the mayor of said municipality. At the end of the meeting, they proceeded to “chicotear” a doll that represented Cuéllar.

On Friday, May 6, andThe deputy of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS), Rolando Cuéllar, joined the complaint for alleged acts of corruption against the mayor of that municipality, Hediberto Cuéllar, who is also part of his party.
