During a police-military operation, José Antonio Castro Silva (29), nicknamed El Mono, accused of the murder of seven-year-old Alexandra Xaviela Padilla Córdoba, was captured.

The murder of the minor occurred last Friday, March 24, when El Mono took Alexandra out of a window of his residence located in the Victoria Popular sector, Los Taques (Falcón) where this man was staying.
By taking her to the vacant lot, El Mono sexually abused the minor and then killed her by mechanical suffocation, according to what was narrated by the cicpc.
The man had entered a wooded area of Los Taques where they located the clothes he wore on the day of the event. He was subsequently captured in the El Hoyito sector of the aforementioned Falconian town.
El Mono presents records for drug trafficking, generic robbery, generic theft, illicit trafficking of metals, precious stones and strategic materials, domestic violence and physical violence.
