SANTIAGO.-Police officers from the municipality of Esperanza, Valverde province, Mao, shot and killed yesterday afternoon a man known as El Mono, who allegedly resisted arrest.
The deceased was identified as Cristian Guzmán (El Mono), who allegedly confronted a police patrol in the Barrio Nuevo sector of Esperanza.

The body was taken to the morgue of the public hospital in Esperanza.
The reasons why the deceased was wanted were not explained. the police authorities.
