A week after the strike broke out, members of the Single Union of Workers of El Colegio de México (Sutcolmex) indicated that they have not been able to establish any dialogue with the authorities of the educational center, who “requested the non-existence of this work stoppage.”
Due to the above, this Thursday afternoon they will hold a hearing in which they will present evidence of the movement’s legitimacy.
Meanwhile, classes resumed virtually yesterday, as did the forums and conferences that were scheduled at the headquarters of El Colegio de México. They mentioned that of the eight study centers, the only one that showed support for the union was the sociological studies center.
They recalled that their request is an increase of 7.5 percent in salary and 6 percent in benefits, “as has happened in other universities.”
