The Federation of Union Workers, Artisans, Retail Traders and Vivanderos of the city of El Alto, the Central Obrera Regional (COR), one of the factions of the Federation of Neighborhood Councils (Fejuve) La Paz and other social organizations convened for this Wednesday a council “in defense of democracy.”
“The Executive Committee, in defense of the democracy of our Plurinational State, before the onslaught of the extreme right that intends to create a new coup, summons all the secretaries, general secretaries, directives and bases in general, of all the associations of the retail trade affiliated to this parent entity to a great popular council “, is stated in the summons.

The meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday 17, at 10:00, on Avenida Juan Pablo II and takes place on the same day as the so-called “great march”, promoted by the Assembly of Peace.
The latter is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and occurs in rejection of Law 1386, the restitution of two thirds in the Legislative Assembly and the annulment of a package of norms that, they consider, violates the rights of the population.
“The city of El Alto has given more than 70% (of the votes) to Mr. President Luis Arce Catacora and we are going to enforce our vote. (…) Based on the resolutions, once again the city of El Alto it will provide the political and union guidelines at the national level, “said Marcelo Mayta, executive of the COR of El Alto, about the council.
