El Alto declares an emergency due to the census and tolls

In a massive assembly, the institutions and organizations of El Alto declared this Saturday an emergency due to the 2022 Population and Housing Census, due to the issue of limits, and they also demand from the central and departmental government the resources generated by the collection of tolls.

The so-called “Assembly of the Alteñidad”, which was held in the Villa Ingenio stadium, and brought together thousands of Alteños, approved the “Manifesto of the Alteñidad”, a document that includes from the subject of requesting items for health and education until elaborating a municipal organic charter.

“In this manifesto is included the political, economic, social issue and the census, which concerns us alteños. The different organizations of El Alto have worked constantly to be able to do this and to be able to unite and reach the same objective and the Driving Committee will have to go and socialize the different determinations of this document,” said Mayor Eva Copa, after concluding the event.

The first point indicates that all social organizations united with the Census Promotion Committee (CIC) will guarantee the presence and effective participation of all El Alto residents in the 2022 Population and Housing Census through social control, so that a greater budget is guaranteed for more works and development of the 14 districts.

“We are one of the most important cities in the country and we will seek to be the first city in population in Bolivia; Consequently, all social organizations united and by mandate of our bases, headed by our Census Promotion Committee, will guarantee the presence and effective participation of all Alteños in the 2022 Population and Housing Census (…)”, he points out. the manifesto on the 2022 census.

Likewise, an emergency is declared to defend its jurisdictional limits in accordance with Law 2337. “All social organizations declare a state of emergency to defend their jurisdictional limits that are demarcated, in accordance with Law 2337, in accordance with the three sentences of territorial demarcation, for which we will carry to the last consequences the restitution of the territory with which the city of El Alto was born”, establishes the third point.

In its final point, the people of El Alto approved that public companies located in the city contribute to development. Given the contribution of the private sector, legal, economic and commercial conditions will be required, so that they continue to invest in El Alto and generate employment. Copa pointed out that the economic aspect is essential for El Alto.
