The state representatives offered discount cards of G. 400 for carriers, however, they did not accept, alleging that the discount should benefit the entire population.
Representatives of the platforms (bolt, uber and more), truckers and representatives of the general public participated. It took place in the offices of Petropar.
Denis Lichi, head of the state oil company, offered the delivery of a special card with discounts of G. 400 for all carriers, but since they had to register and register, they requested that the best thing would be to apply the discount for all citizens. However, the Government’s response was that the conditions for a reduction in general were not met, which is why the meeting had to be terminated in order to resume it today.
Federico Ferreira, president of the National Union of Motorcycle Workers (Sinactram) and one of the demonstrators of the day, affirmed that once again the adhesion of the workers was seen on the one hand and the boycott of the police. This because several carriers were stranded.
“In Coronel Oviedo, Caaguazú and in San Bernardino, there were several comrades stranded. The police were scheduled to boycott. We learned that the Government decided not to lower the fuel. This price hits our pockets and our families”, he expressed.
The demonstration began at the Petropar plant located in Villa Elisa. Then it continued towards the Cuatro Mojones viaduct, Terminal de Ómnibus and finally culminated on Avenida Mcal. Lopez and San Martin.
“We ask the government to open a work table for us. We have well argued how it can lower the price of fuel. They claim not. In that coming and going they ignore us. The logical thing would be for them to receive us, listen to our proposal and then act accordingly”, he stated.
About 60 private vehicles and 30 motorcycles participated in the demonstration. This without counting the truckers, tumberos and grueros.
DIRECTOR
As the mobilization progressed, part of the citizenry took to the streets to show their support. Among them were the teachers and the director of the Colegio Nacional Nuestra Señora Stella Maris, located on Av. República Argentina in the capital.
Delcia Ramírez, director of the morning shift, stated that it is time for the people to no longer be silent about their rights and what is wrong.
“They are abusing. We have students who barely make it to college. And worse, if the fuel, the passage and the family basket go up. It’s time to put a stop to it. I think it’s beautiful that citizens come out to demonstrate. I would like the entire country to be paralyzed so that they see that the people suffer, need and deserve authorities who think about the country”, he pointed out.
