He Congress of the Republic This Wednesday approved the eighth extraordinary retirement of the funds of the pension fund managers (AFP), allowing affiliates to access a maximum amount of S/21 400 (equivalent to 4 UIT).
The measure was backed by a large majority and will now pass to the Executive for its promulgation.
Although the publication of the norm is still missing, the Dina Boluarte government is expected to not observe the law, since the president herself confirmed that her management is in favor of this new retirement.
When would the law be promulgated?
According to the finance specialist of the Pacific Business School, Jorge Carrillo Acosta, the promulgation of the norm could be realized tomorrow September 19, 2025after the endorsement of the Executive.
Subsequently, the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) will have a maximum period of 30 days to publish the operational procedure that will govern the withdrawals.
This means that, in the best scenario, the first disbursements would be made in November 2025.
Possible dates for AFP retirement
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Raúl Pérez Reyes, said the payments would begin in November. According to estimates, this would be the tentative schedule of retreats:
- First retirement (up to 1 UIT)
- Second Retreat (up to 1 UIT)
- Third retirement (up to 1 UIT)
- Retirement Fourth (up to 1 UIT)
Each withdrawal will be programmed with 30 -day intervals, calendar from the first application.
Likewise, Carrillo announced that the deadline for submitting retirement requests will defeat on January 5, 2026, that is, 90 days after the entry into force of the operational procedure.
