The Brazilian Association of Nutritional Products Companies (Abenutri) disapproved 18 brands of creatine sold on the market, according to this year’s report, released this Thursday (10) by the entity. In comparison with 2023, this time 21% of brands previously disapproved were approved in this edition of the analysis.
The association’s study compared the information on product labels with the contents of their packaging. In total, 88 products were checked.
The most interesting fact from the report was the finding that ten brands, manufactured by four companies, did not contain a single gram of creatine in the product. In this situation, one company alone manufactures five of the ten rejected brands.
According to legislation, a variation of up to 20% is allowed between the indication of the amount of creatine and its actual presence in the product sold.
With this criterion – presence or absence of creatine in the product sold -, the report is divided into five categories: from 0% to 5%, 5.1% to 10%, 10.1% to 20%, -100% and – 21% to 99%.
In the first case (0% to 5%) 48 brands were approved. In the following categories (5.1% to 10% and 10.1% to 20%) 13 brands were approved.

The manufacturers have already taken legal action against the publication of the results.
