The document presented by Alba Hermo, leader of Data & Intelligence at Edelma México, indicates that 78% of those surveyed stated that their company has accelerated the use of data for business intelligence, with micro-enterprises being the ones that have done so to a lesser degree. done with 69%.

Also, 87% of the MSMEs declared making decisions based on data, being 100% relevant in companies with the largest number of employees. Additionally, eight out of 10 companies implemented technologies and training for a data-driven culture.

“Clearly and forcefully, most of the MSMEs of the Dominican Republic declares that during the pandemic their companies have suffered, they have experienced a digital acceleration. 85% declare yes, compared to 15% who declare no. This figure increases slightly to a share of 90 and 95% as we increase the size of the companies”, said Hermo.

Digitization has changed training

Among the conclusions of the study, Hermo explained that the pandemic the format and content of training changed, especially in larger companies.

During this time, the study found, companies prioritized training in digital marketing skills and remote and collaborative work. In contrast, less than a third of companies implemented training in data-oriented culture or cybersecurity.

Recruitment has been more diverse

While two in 10 companies have not recruited new staff in the last year, another 43% have opted for face-to-face recruiting.

Hybrid recruiting is more prevalent in larger companies. In general, companies recognize the technology as a facilitator of the recruitment process and greater diversity in recruited talent, as well as workers living abroad.
