On March 13, the Liberal Convention approved an external audit of the management of the head of the PLRA, Efraín Alegre (2016 – 2021).
Two days later, on March 15, Dionisio Amarilla, treasurer of the PLRA and opponent of Alegre, began the process of hiring external auditors on his own. The questions focus on the use of G. 95,000 million (US$ 13.6 million) that the party received throughout the Alegre administration.
On Monday, Amarilla finally presented via note, who will be the auditors that he hired for the job. Efraín Alegre, responded in the same way, that the audit will not be done as the current treasurer wants.
“I reiterate the absolute inadmissibility of your request and your actions, intending to carry out the audit resolved by the convention in your own way,” reads part of the response.
Finally, he stressed that the doors of the PLRA are closed to any attempt by Chartism to subdue it.
“Everyone knows that this political group is linked to illicit activities, to which you, Dionisio Amarilla, serve as the main pawn and spokesperson. Do the favor of communicating the above to your political boss,” the head of the PLRA finally fired in the note.
Amarilla’s response was immediate and stated on its social networks that “the audit process will not be suspended. He asks that Alegre convene the board of directors for the approval or rejection of the auditing services that he hired.
