The Bolivian soccer team had the debut of three young players in the match against Ecuador, which was played this Thursday, at the Banco Pichincha stadium in Guayaquil, for the eleventh round of the World Cup Qualifiers: Efraín Morales, Óscar López and Carlos Sejas.
Morales works as a defender, is 20 years old and has American and Bolivian nationality, because his father is from Cochabamba and his mother is Puerto Rican.
His current club is Atlanta United of the Major League Soccer (MLS) of the United States and in his debut he started in Bolivia’s central defense, where he showed interesting things.
For his part, López plays as a midfielder, is 18 years old and has Spanish and Bolivian nationality, because his mother is Benian and his father is Spanish.
He trained in the youth categories of Mallorca and recently signed his first professional contract with that club, which competes in the first division of Spanish football.
López was called up to the Bolivian under-20 team, but coach Óscar Villegas saw good conditions in him and decided to have him work for the senior team since the middle of last week.
Against Ecuador he entered from the beginning of the second half, when the game was 2-0, despite his efforts, he could not do much against an opponent who was vastly superior and who knew how to take advantage of the numerical difference, since Bolivia was one man less for the expulsion of José Sagredo, in the 24th minute of the first half.
La Verde had a third debutant, Carlos Sejas, a 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Aurora de Cochabamba.
His entry into the clash against the Ecuadorians occurred at 80 minutes, when the score was 4-0.
