Acapulco, Gro., The first effects of the Package against Inflation and Famine (PCIC) will be reflected in 15 days or a month after the Ministry of Economy (SE) refines the details on the application of zero tariffs on imports of basic products and supplies, said the head of the unit, Tatiana Clouthier Carrillo.

He noted that it will be next Monday when it is published in the Official Journal of the Federation the temporary measure for six months of zero tariffs on 21 of 24 products of the basic basket and five inputs.
He pointed out that the federal government chose the 24 products from a basket held by the Federal Consumer Protection Office (Profeco) and the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval).
He stressed that after the announcement on zero tariffs on basic products made during the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the price of rice inventories fell by 3 percent.
After reiterating that the package of measures is for the benefit of those families that have an economic disadvantage, Clouthier Carrillo clarified that there will not be a decrease in the final price of rice -in the product that reaches the consumer-, but rather at the input level. , which does not cause an increase in the final price.
The official denied that the Pcic represents an additional expense in the budget approved by the Congress of the Union. I don’t think this is taking money out of the budget to be able to make other investments. He added that the Federal Law of Economic Competition will not be violated, since the companies or producers have raised their hands to say if they participate.
