The ungrouped legislator Edward Malagahe replied to the president Pedro Castillo immediately after his legal defense returned the vacancy motion against him to the offices of Parliament.
The motion was admitted to debate in plenary session yesterday, and its vote was scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, the date on which it was expected to hear the defenses of the head of state and his lawyers against the 102-page thesis where supports his moral incapacity to govern.
However, in the afternoon today, after a meeting at the Government Palace, Castillo’s legal defense team sent a letter to Congress, arguing that the motion in question was incomplete because it did not have a list of 14 pieces of evidence that , they consider, should be attached.

“I am pleased to send you this letter in order to send you a cordial greeting and make the opportunity opportune to return the transfer of the Order of the Day Motion 4904 that contains the request for vacancy due to permanent moral incapacity since it is incomplete.”, reads the document sent by the Executive.
Given this, one of the promoters of the third presidential vacancy motion, Edward Málaga (not grouped) did not take long to respond to the president, through a letter sent to Javier Ángeles Illmann, Parliamentary General Director of the Mayor’s Office of the Congress of the republic.
“All the documents mentioned in the request letter are not part of the list of annexes that make up the cited motion. In this sense, I request that you communicate the same to the President of the Republic so that the procedure for presidential vacancy due to permanent moral incapacity continues its regular process, respecting due process and previously approved deadlines.”, Malaga pointed out.
He also urged the president’s defense “not to act recklessly, having to respect the nature and regulation of the indicated procedure”, as well as the constitutional powers of the Congress of the Republic.
