Santo Domingo. – The doctor Edward Guzmán Padilla He swore on Monday as the new executive director of the National Health Insurance (Senasa)after being appointed in the position by President Luis Abinader, through Decree 461-25.
Guzmán Padilla, who previously served as Manager of the National Social Security Council (CNSS)was sworn by the Minister of Public Health and head of the National Council of the National Health Insurance (COSENASA), Víctor Atallah, in an act where the Wide trajectory and Galen’s experience, and wanted success in the exercise of his new functions.
When assuming his new responsibility in the institution, Guzmán expressed his commitment to work for a Transparency -based managementefficiency and Continuous improvement of affiliate experience and providers, thus with the aim of strengthening confidence in the insurer’s services.
With its designation, Senasa is expected to continue consolidating its role as the axis of the Dominican health system, strengthening the Citizen trust and advancing towards more equitable, efficient and centered coverage.

Guzmán is doctor Graduated from the Pontifical Mother and Master Catholic University (PUCMM). It has two masters: address and management of social security systems, by the University of Alcalá-Oissand Business Administration (MBA) by the Argentine Catholic University (UCA). In addition, he is a specialist in Economics and Health Management.
Has developed extensive professional career as University professor in the PUCMM, where it imparts subjects in public health and social security.
Before occupying the Directorate of Senasa, he came to occupy various functions such as Medical Audit, responsible for the Health Management, and coordinator of the project “Senasa Take care of you” and the Marco Sns-Senasa contract.
In August 2020 he was appointed Vice Minister of Planning and Development of the Ministry of Public Health, integrating into the Health Cabinet and actively participating in the National Vaccination Plan “Vacuate RD”.
