Although the proposal has a high recreational component, concepts in Language and Mathematics are also reaffirmed
Every day between 40 and 45 children are attending the Educational Summer activities at School No. 135 in Barrio Ruiz.
The central axis of the project is art and beyond the fact that the proposal has a high recreational and playful component, aspects related to Mathematics and Language are not neglected.
“Everything has gone normally, we see that the children are very happy with the project. We have the support of the community as well. They are attending aquatic activities and participating in educational outings. A lot of work is being done in art, mainly in music and in the elaboration of handmade masks. We are very happy with the project and how it has been developing” Maestro Diego De Los Santos commented to EL PROFESIONAL Diario.
“Between 40 and 45 approximately are the children who are attending the Educational Summer. As completion nears, attendance has dwindled a bit. Some children go on vacation with their parents and for a few days they stop coming. Beyond that, I see them very happy, very enthusiastic. We believe that we are developing a very good project where children have been able to express themselves through art and through music and plastic expression” highlighted the Director of Educational Summer at School 135.
The project prepared by the work team, made up of a Master Director, a Teacher, a Professor and 2 Assistants, aims at art, specifically at plastic arts and music. “For many it has been the first approach to the musical language and many know a musical instrument for the first time. In addition, we are working with carnival masks that are already in their final phase because it is a process that takes a certain number of days, at least 5” she explained.
It is expected that the last day there will be an exhibition of works that will be exhibited to the community.
Water activities and educational outings
“The students have already attended the pool and they really enjoy this proposal a lot. Today we have planned the attendance at the Club Union pool. The children return very happy, very happy. You can see that there is a great enthusiasm ”she highlighted.
“We have planned an outing to the Bio Park for these days. They are also very excited about it,” she teased.
“Another important aspect to consider is that we also review the curricular knowledge that is worked on throughout the year, such as Language and Mathematics. In this space, children can raise questions about issues that have not been clear to them during the year. Here we also dedicate a part of the day to work in these two areas” he affirmed. “It is a support so that when the children go back to school they have clear knowledge. We try to reinforce what has been learned and to enhance those concepts that perhaps were not entirely clear during the year” stressed Diego De Los Santos, Teacher Director of Educational Summer at School No. 135.
