Eight weeks into the school period, in person, the Ministry of Education (Meduca) reported that around 400 positive cases of Covid-19 have been registered in schools nationwide.
The National Director of Environmental Education of Meduca, Carmen Aparicio, highlighted that there are some schools in which 20 positive cases have been exceeded. These educational centers are located in the provinces of Herrera, San Miguelito, Chiriquí, and Panamá Oeste.
“The protocol has been applied, establishing traceability, carrying out the swab, and the educational centers have already been disinfected and it is important that the health committees are aware that the biosecurity measures are complied with within the educational centers,” he said.

He recalled that students who present symptoms should not go to the educational center, if it is a close contact with a positive case, they should be tested and quarantined for 5 days.
