Santo Domingo. – The Ministry of Education reported that it plans to deliver 115,836 units of seats, blackboards, desks, chairs, shelves and files before the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
The institution stated that the delivery will be made to 472 schools located in different parts of the country, as part of the work being carried out to ensure that school furniture reaches educational centers in a timely manner.
To date, 36,393 Intec II seats have been distributed for the Basic Level; 21,051 Intec III seats for the Secondary Level; 2,841 desks for directors and 336 desks for teachers; 639 shelves for Initial Level books; 24 library tables; 99 type 7 bookcases and 582 tables for computer computers, indicates a report from the General Directorate of General Services of the Minerd.
11,880 tables for first and second grade have also been delivered; 78 horseshoe tables; 2,184 folding tables; 3,129 whiteboards; 399 cork boards (mural) and 651 chalk boards.
Leonor Alcántara, Director of General Services, explained that since school furniture is distributed throughout the school year, according to the needs of the educational centers, only the schools that require it will receive the items.

In addition, educational centers have been provided with 582 computer lab chairs; 6,651 chairs for preschool; 23,095 chairs for first to second grade; 3,450 multipurpose chairs; 720 chairs for teachers and 519 theater chairs.
