The Minister of Education, Édgar Pary, urged parents to promote the vaccination of their children with the aim of starting 2022 with face-to-face classes, he reported on Wednesday.
“The objective of the Ministry of Education is to start school activities in the face-to-face mode, but this will depend on the behavior of the pandemic,” the authority explained at a press conference. On a previous occasion, the minister indicated that the school year will begin on the first Monday in February.

This proposal will be worked on in coordination with the Ministry of Health, taking into account the behavior of the pandemic.
“We call for reflection on parents so that they authorize the vaccination of their sons or daughters. For us, the main thing is that the vaccines are exhausted, the vaccines that are established at this time for young people between 12 and 17 years old, ”he explained.
Pary indicated that the whole family should be immunized. “What we want is to emphasize that a child is not always infected in the educational unit, it can be infected in the street, in the cable car or in the bus. The responsibility belongs to everyone ”, he reflected.
Vaccination for people between 12 and 18 years of age is authorized in the country. The Government allocated Pfizer vaccines and minors can access immunization with the authorization of their parents.
