The Minister of Education, Édgar Pary, asked all educational communities to continue using chinstraps and gel alcohol to avoid contagion of Covid-19.

“From the Ministry of Education, we will always recommend that educational units maintain biosafety measures, such as the use of a mask and alcohol gel, and hand washing, among others. Our priority is to protect the health of our students and avoid contagion in schools,” said the authority.

According to Pary, one of the Government’s priorities is to guarantee face-to-face classes to improve the quality of teaching-learning for students.

“We want the universalization of attendance in the country’s educational units, because we believe that this type of education gives better results in the teaching-learning process of our students,” said the minister.

Pary urged parents not to lower their guard against Covid-19, but on the contrary, to continue going to the vaccination points with their children.

“Our Government has guaranteed free vaccines; we must continue going to the immunization points”, recommended the minister and indicated that 90% of the teachers and 60% of the students are already immunized in the country.

Given the small number of covid cases, the Sucre Municipal Council approved a law to stop wearing the mask in open public spaces. In addition, Santa Cruz de la Sierra is preparing a mayoral decree to abolish the obligation to use the mask in public spaces.
