Educa y Banco Popular anuncian XXV edición Aprendo 2021

Business Action for Education -EDUCA and the Banco Popular Dominicano announced the 25th edition of the International Congress on Education I Learn 2021, which will take place from December 10 to 11.

This year the central theme of the forum will be the debate on the convenience of innovating in educational processes beyond the pandemic, for which it is expected to have the participation of more than 8,000 educators in the country, 1,200 of them in person.

In this version, which begins on the morning of Friday 11, the official opening will take place in the evening session with the participation of national and international educational authorities.

Mr. Luciano Braverman, Senior Director of Education for Microsoft Latin America, will offer the keynote address that will start the congress, with the theme “Gamification as a transforming tool in education.”

The details of the event were offered during a virtual press conference with the media chaired by the president of EDUCA, Samuel Conde and José Mármol, executive vice president of Corporate Communications, Reputation and Responsible Banking, of Grupo Popular.

Aprendo is considered the main and most successful forum of national education professionals with broad national and international significance.

Its mission is to vindicate, strengthen and redefine the role of educators in the learning process, erecting the figure of the teacher as the cornerstone of the system, guiding them so that they can stay at the forefront of changes in educational processes.

This annual event of the education sector is organized by Educa, which, as a private sector entity with a vocation to contribute to the national agenda for quality education, is committed to providing creative and effective solutions to raise the quality of education for Dominican students. .

Rethinking education

The organizers of the meeting explained that the pandemic has confirmed that education is a collective process that requires personalization and at the same time attention focused on the uniqueness of each individual.

In this way, for the twenty-fifth edition of the I Learn 2021 International Education Congress, the construction methodology was chosen from the feelings of the teachers, who best know the needs and requirements of the family and the students.

For this, they indicated, given the fall of the existing barriers between educators and technology, it is imperative to review the institutional and pedagogical management models and see technology as a tool at the service of learning and not as an end in itself.

The president of Educa, Samuel Conde, stressed that in the current context the school is no longer limited to physical spaces, in view of which to achieve an effective education it is necessary to rethink, in addition to the role of the educator, the application of intelligence curricular and choose the appropriate content so that students are able to acquire the skills provided.

“And for this reason, in recent times, and in particular due to the effects generated by COVID – 19, we have proposed to start the search for alternatives to current educational processes, as a way to reverse the meager results, which in terms of Dominican students reach learning, measured at whatever level, and from the tool used, “said Conde.

“Under the general guidelines of educational policy, it is the teachers and it is with them that the educational system can be transformed in the classroom and in the educational center, listening to them, establishing empathy and synergy with them and giving them the opportunity to contribute to forging the academic destiny of each educational center ”, emphasized the business leader.

On behalf of Banco Popular, Mrs. Mariel Bera, vice president of the Corporate Relations and Responsible Banking Area, explained that the bank is sponsoring this forum as part of its vision of sustainability aligned with the United Nations Principles of Responsible Banking.

“Our goal is to achieve positive impacts on Dominican society in the long term, contributing to the training of upright and highly qualified citizens,” said the executive.
