The president of Congress, Eduardo Salhuanaended his trip to China and announced that he returned to Peru on Wednesday night. In addition, he assured that he will call a press conference today.
“Fulfilling my commitment, at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, I returned to the country, after completing the official meetings agreed with the President of the National People’s Congress of China and other high-level authorities of said country, the Peru’s first commercial partner,” he indicated on his social networks.
Through his X account, Salhuana indicated that this Thursday a “detailed report will be provided to the national press.”
Likewise, in another publication today, the head of Parliament reiterated that he will be informed “regarding the relevant issues of the Congress of the Republic.”
“Today we will inform the country, through the media, regarding the relevant issues of the Congress of the Republic,” he said.
As recalled, the president of the Legislative Branch traveled to China on January 5, in the midst of the scandal of the alleged prostitution network that would have operated within Congress and the murder of the former parliamentary worker, Andrea Vidal.
His insistence on traveling generated questions from various parliamentarians due to the institutional crisis that Parliament is going through. In that sense, the Honor and Democracy bench announced that it will promote a motion of censure against Salhuana.
