Edmundo González arrived in Ecuador, as part of his tour of Latin America, to meet with President Daniel Noboa, whose administration was one of the first to recognize him as the winner of the presidential elections of last July 28 and qualifies him as elected president.
Edmundo González Urrutia was received with honors as head of state upon arrival at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, from Quito, where Ecuador’s Foreign Minister, Gabriela Sommerfeld, waited him on the track.
The Venezuelans living in Ecuador were grouped in front of the hostel where González is housed to provide support to the opponent. In this country, about 475,000 Venezuelans who fled their country after the economic and political crisis and seek better life opportunities.
The Venezuelans convened a concentration on the outskirts of the Carondelet Palace, where Noboa and González will meet, to receive him as elected president of Venezuela.

The opposition ensures, after obtaining copies of the electoral minutes, that Edmundo González was the winner of the presidential elections of July 28 and that the National Electoral Council illegitimately proclaimed Maduro as reelected.

González Urrutia plans to move to the University of the Americas (UDLA) to receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa “for his remarkable contribution to the defense of the fundamental values of democracy and freedom,” according to the University itself.
This house of higher studies in Ecuador seeks to “recognize those people whose academic and professional work has had a significant impact on society and in the principles that guide the university education” of that institution.
Then, González Urrutia will travel to Peru, where President Dina Boluarte will receive it, who also considers him as “elected president.”
