There will be no first class seats to attend the destruction of the planet. And that is what humanity is going to if the course is not rectified. International media outlets highlight the commitments expressed by representatives of various countries in the high-level debate of the UN General Assembly ‘Action for climate: for the people, the planet and prosperity’. Commitments have never been lacking. Declarations of goodwill. Meetings of world leaders. But the actions are still insufficient. And the data provided by science are not encouraging, although some economic and political moguls insist on ignoring them.

Climate change is a reality. It is not an invention of alarmists. And man has caused it. Only man has the ability to avoid catastrophe. And although some dream of a ticket to another planet when the Earth depletes its reserves, the truth is that right now the only known space for life is this. One world, one shared responsibility.

From pristine capitals of the developed world, the third world is blamed for the most harmful practices against the environment. The cynicism of those who for centuries exploited and plundered entire peoples. And that continue to impose the guidelines of the world economy. Gas emissions into the atmosphere do a lot of damage, but also the rabidly consumerist scheme that somehow encourages indiscriminate industrialization.

If you do the math properly, the world is capable of feeding all its inhabitants. But what happens is that while some discard thousands of tons of food daily, others live in a famine that seems to have no solution. It is not the poor who have brought the planet to current conditions. The poor are too busy surviving.

There is awareness of the need for change, at least among millions of people, but there seems to be no will to articulate it. While the high-level meetings are happening. Okay, they are necessary. But so far its results are not up to the big problem.
