The appointment was announced just hours before Sheinbaum is sworn in on Tuesday as the first female president in the history of Mexico.
During his time at the Ministry of Finance, Yorio was head of the Public Credit Unit and in charge of the International Affairs Unit, later becoming Undersecretary of the Treasury.
Amador, for his part, is an economist and was head of the Finance Secretariat of the Mexico City government during the administration of Miguel Ángel Mancera, before Sheinbaum became mayor of the capital.
The official will be in charge of the tough task of fiscal consolidation that is sought next year to lower the public deficit from 5.9% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 3.5% of the GDP.
I thank the president @lopezobrador_ for the trust you gave me to serve as Undersecretary of @Hacienda_Mexico. It has been the greatest honor and the most important responsibility of my career.
