Édgar Acosta, a national deputy for the PLRA, told Ñanduti AM that if Santiago Peña wins the elections, the same thing will happen as happened with Oviedo and Cubas in 98′ when the popular motto that was heard at that time was; “Cubas to the Government, Oviedo to Power”. In other words, if Peña wins, the one who will actually be in power will be Horacio Cartes.
“I am in contact with the citizenry, my way of doing politics is listening to opinions and interacting, people want changes and that means that the Colorado Party must leave power,” he said.
He argued that the one with the best chance of winning is the sheet that won in the Concertación, since if Peña wins, a person declared “significantly corrupt” like Cartes will be in power.
“There has to be a useful vote, I will never ask someone to dismount. Political actors need conversations, possible agreements must not be demonized, ”she finally said.
