Edesur Dominican Republic reported this Tuesday that it has carried out anti-fraud operations in which more than 1,015 illegal electrical connections were dismantled and work was done to regularize the service to hundreds of users in various provinces, including San Juan, Barahona, Neiba, Elías Piña and Azua.
He said that in Saint John 57 illegal connections were disconnected in the Buena Vista and San Carlos sectors, in the municipal district of Sabana Alta.
“During these interventions, various types of cables used for the theft of electricity were seized, such as sweet wire, telecommunications and barbed cables, according to a press release sent by the institution.
- He added that in Barahonawere made 75 disconnections in the towns of Villa Central, Paraíso and Cabral, while another 10 illegal connections were detected in the center of the municipality of Neiba.
- In Elias Piñathe operations focused on the regularization of the service for 450 users in the Guanito community, who owed more than 2 million 164 thousand pesos to the company.
According Edesurbefore proceeding to dismantle the irregular connectionsa commission from the Departments of Losses and Social Management visited the area and met with the illegally connected residents, to whom it was explained that the objective was to regularize the service for all electricity consumers.
“Edesur offered facilities to users, such as payment agreements for those with debts or outstanding accounts. In addition, users without meters or contracts had their service regularized immediately and all those affected were urged to go to the corresponding commercial office to receive quick and efficient attention,” the document indicates.
In Azuaactions were implemented to eradicate irregular connections and promote the regularization of users. During an intervention in the municipality of Estebanía, 18 homes in Los Jovillos and another 13 in the community of Amiama Gómez were disconnected.
Other actions
