SAN CRISTÓBAL.- With a RD investment $ 4,584,469, Edesur Dominicana installed voltage regulators and relocated capacitors in the communities of Sabana Palenque and Juan Barón, in order to improve voltage quality and normalize electricity supply For residents of the area.
The installed equipment includes regulators of 7.6 kilowatts (kV) and 167 kilovoltamperia (kVA), as well as 3 x100 kilowolt condenses reactive (kvar) and 12.47 kVA.
The installation was in charge of 24 brigades working with low voltage and in the process two cranes and 15 basket trucks were used.
The works also included a load transfer of the Yagu102F circuit to PIZA 101, with the aim of reducing the overdemand of the power transformer of the Yaguate substation, which was operating to the limit of its capacity.
This load redistribution favors a better balance of demand between the circuits, decreases the pressure on the transformer and improves the operational efficiency of the substation.
With the installation of voltage regulators and the transfer, more than 2,000 homes will benefit in the towns of Sabana Palenque, Juan Barón, Palenque Playa and Sabana Grande, which can enjoy a more stable and higher quality electric service.
In addition, it will contribute to the reduction of domestic accidents caused by irregular connections, since residents will now have a stable voltage and an adequate wiring system.
